Intelligent fleet management with dual CAN interface
The Vehicle Gateway is part of an advanced fleet management solution that utilizes a smart algorithm to combine data from various vehicle environment interfaces. Based on the LTE CAT M1 network, it supports multiple standard protocols and interfaces simultaneously, using two separate CAN channels that enable driver identification, serial communication with third party devices, a wide range of measurement ports, and more.
All these interfaces are designed and configured for maximum flexibility with CAN data aggregation, filtering, processing, and event triggering.
Our Vehicle Gateway provides advanced multi-source data, which is ingested into Unity, Powerfleet’s fleet intelligence platform. The Compliance and Workflow Management solution is an in-cab system. It complies with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) regulations, offering an electronic logbook with integrated vehicle data. Additionally, it enables efficient Hours of Service (HOS) management, provides turn-by-turn navigation, allows for customizable workflow management, and facilitates seamless two-way communication between drivers and dispatchers/fleet managers.
The system seamlessly integrates with your transportation management system (TMS), retrieves dispatch data from your workflow, and integrates it into the driver’s logs, reducing the need for duplicate driver input and minimizing log violations due to inaccurate data. Additionally, it provides real-time positioning, minute-by-minute reporting, and engine performance data (speed, MPG, idle time, fault codes). This data enables benchmarking of driver performance, behavior, and evaluation of truck performance.

Keyless Gateway
Plug & Play Wireless Control, Tracking, and Monitoring for Rental and Leased Fleets
The Keyless Gateway is an after-market, plug-and-play device specifically tailored for large rental or leased fleets. It provides a seamless and straightforward installation process, effortless removal, and features a patented locking mechanism. It provides core vehicle data, including vehicle identification number (VIN), fuel, odometer, battery level and fault codes as well as BSOC and charge state for real-time visibility of the vehicle condition and use to streamline data collection and the billing process.
Our mobile SDK provides integration directly into your mobile app to perform actions such as keyless lock/unlock, in a secure, encrypted manner with AES256 via cellular or BLE communication modes. This ensures a secure means for automated check-in and check-out processes, enabling a contactless, self-service customer experience.

Micromobility Gateway
Compact, LTE-based micromobility device with BLE connectivity
The Micromobility Gateway is Powerfleet’s fleet and security management product. With a wide input voltage range of 9 to 90 volts and a CAN interface, it is designed to accommodate various vehicle types, including two/three-wheeled lightweight vehicles such as scooters and e-bikes, as well as traditional cars and trucks. Its compact form factor, IP65 protection, and built-in non-removable harness ensure easy installation and make it suitable for challenging environments.
The Micromobility Gateway incorporates GNSS for location tracking, alongside collision detection, basic driver behavior capabilities, and built-in motion sensors. Due to strong consumer feedback and efficiency we’ve seen in our workflow, we are dedicating additional resources to expand our Avis QuickPass offering. For those unfamiliar with this product, it enables our preferred customers upon arrival to select from a choice of vehicles on their phone, proceed directly to their car, and then utilize a unique QR code to exit via our automated Express Exit for a completely contactless experience.
The Powerfleet solution is easy to use. The Powerfleet team is helpful and has follow-up meetings after installation to make sure we know how to manage it. At the time our utility trailer was stolen and equipped with Powerfleet technology, I was out of town (not in the office), but the system was easy to use remotely. I was able to log-in and track our assets from anywhere.
Two years ago, we could buy a dry van trailer for $30,000 – today, they are $50,000. Some receivers use our trailers as an extension of their warehouse. One of our customers has 20-25 of our trailers at any given time. Powerfleet’s solution has allowed me to see when a trailer has been dropped for more than seven to ten days.
