The Logistics Gateway is an asset tracking product that provides continuous real-time visibility while in transit. This includes high-frequency reporting on the location, status, and condition of assets (e.g., dry van, reefer trailers, chassis, flatbed trailers, etc.) and freight, in addition to more accurate arrival and departure information to better plan and manage supply chain resources.
The Logistics Gateway leverages constant external power for frequent tethered reporting. It also features long-lasting, rechargeable battery with extended operation, making it suitable for monitoring cargo state changes and movements in yards and terminals. Optional wireless sensors offer enhanced visibility into cargo images, status, as well as asset condition reporting, including loaded/empty status, container mounting, transit/idle status, and more.

The Logistics Gateway – Solar is a self-contained, multi-powered asset tracking and wireless sensor gateway, featuring solar operation/recharge, supercapacitor rechargeable power, and primary battery backup. This combination provides enhanced flexibility and ensures years of maintenance-free performance.
The Logistics Gateway – Solar establishes a seamless wireless connection with our FreightCam and other wireless sensors, enabling a comprehensive view of the cargo and capturing essential operational and environmental data such as tire pressure monitoring, temperature, humidity, shock, cargo tag, and more.
The Dual-mode version of the Logistics Gateway – Solar, also incorporates bidirectional Iridium® satellite communication as a fallback when CAT-1/LTE cellular communication is unavailable. This dual-mode communication ensures uninterrupted coverage in scenarios where there are coverage gaps due to rural networks, cross-border/network operation, or adverse conditions like natural disasters and extreme weather.

The Cold Chain Gateway is Powerfleet’s cellular and optional satellite-backup, dual-mode communication device, for monitoring and remotely controlling refrigerated trailers and cargo. It utilizes 4G/LTE cellular data as its primary two-way communication mode, with the option for global satellite communication from Iridium® as a backup. The optional satellite backup provides continuous coverage in scenarios where there are cellular network issues, cross-border operations, or during natural disasters and extreme weather conditions.
The Cold Chain Gateway enables remote configuration of refrigeration units in real time and provides valuable operational data such as location, temperature set point(s), inlet and outlet air temperature(s), fuel level, and alarm events. With instant notifications, it ensures compliance with food safety regulations and supports sustainable and efficient cold chain operations.

The FreightCam combines a high-resolution camera, image recognition processor, door sensor, and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver comprehensive cargo visibility throughout the entire transportation cycle. It accurately reports load and empty status while providing detailed cargo insights. Loaded, empty, and cargo Images are configured to update on key transportation events (e.g., door closed, begin/end of drive). Additionally, Cargo Images can be remotely triggered on-demand and/or according to a predefined schedule.
It installs on swing or roll doors to provide the best vantage point for true loading efficiency analysis, without the risk of being obscured by cargo loaded against the front wall. Utilizing advanced wireless technology, the FreightCam can be mounted on the rear door(s) of the trailer, while the host tracking device is positioned at the front. This configuration ensures reliability, minimizes damage risks, maximizes solar recharge for the host device, and optimizes cargo visibility.
The FreightCam can connect with Powerfleet’s Logistics Gateway and Logistics Gateway – Solar to provide real-time event reporting. The Gateways integrate with Unity, our SaaS-based fleet intelligence platform that ingests, processes, and consolidates data from every asset, vehicle, and person.
The Temperature Sensor is a factory-sealed, IP69K rated, standalone, wireless temperature logging/broadcast sensor with integrated accelerometer and magnetic (door close/open) sensors, featuring long battery life. It is designed to mount inside cold chain storage and transportation environments or be packaged with commodities, to provide end-to-end temperature remote visibility and high-frequency history.
It functions within a wide temperature range, operating from -30°C to +85°C, and ensures accuracy of < ±1°C between -25°C and 85°C, with a minimum resolution of 0.1°C. With the ability to store up to 3,000 readings between log uploads, this sensor guarantees reliable data retention. Its rugged design adheres to EN 60068-2-27 for shock resistance and EN 12830 for vibration resistance, ensuring durability in demanding environments. The Temperature Sensor employs 2.4 GHz wireless technology for seamless communication with Powerfleet's range of logistics management products. It can also connect with any other hub that supports 2.4 GHz communication, including smartphones, tablets, and OEM hubs. Two years ago, we could buy a dry van trailer for $30,000 – today, they are $50,000. Some receivers use our trailers as an extension of their warehouse.
